Built like the real thing.
Not a toy remake. Every hit, block and click is simulated on the server, the way a serious PvP server does it.
Real 1.8 PvP
Sprint resets, w-taps, crits, knockback that sends you flying, rod-less combos. Combat is server-authoritative with lag compensation, so the hit you see is the hit you get.
Anticheat, both sides
The server checks speed, flight, reach, aim, autoclickers and anti-knockback. The desktop app shuts out dev tools and spots cheat software.
Wagers
Put a stake on a 1v1, a 2v2 or a free-for-all. Stakes sit in escrow, the winners split the pot.
Bots that play like people
They only see you in their view cone, hear your bridging and gunshots, lose you behind cover and come looking.

Shader-pack looks
Sun shadows, soft sky light, 3D clouds, bloom and water that catches the sun. Switch to Fast on a slow laptop.
Community maps
24 arenas from Planet Minecraft builders, cut out, set up for each mode and played through by bots before they went in. Credited to their authors in game.
Always up to date
The game streams from the server, so new modes and fixes are there the moment they ship. The desktop app updates itself in the background.

Installing on Windows
Run the installer. If Windows says "Windows protected your PC", click More info → Run anyway; the app isn't code-signed yet.
Installing on Mac
Unzip and drag Highland into Applications. The first time, right-click it and choose Open (or System Settings → Privacy & Security → Open Anyway).

Is it free?
Yes. Every mode is free against bots, and in practice. Wagers use credits you can top up on the dashboard.
Do I need Minecraft?
No. Highland runs on its own in the browser or the app. If you own Minecraft you can wear your skin, and the real sounds play.
Can I play with my friends?
Yes. Make a 2v2 room and your friend joins your team from the same statue in the lobby, against bots or against another pair. Free-for-all modes take up to 8.
What does the anticheat do?
The server checks every move, hit, click and block against what a real player can do. The desktop app adds a client check: no dev tools or debuggers, and it reports cheat tools such as autoclickers and memory editors. Wagers can require the app.
Is this affiliated with Mojang?
No. Highland is a fan project, not affiliated with Mojang or Microsoft. Community maps belong to their authors and are credited in game.
